We have a Professional Writing program - distinct from English/composition, per se, and presumably oriented towards this sort of writing/writing instruction. I wonder how they would react to your list?

I'm unfamilar with most professional writing curricula, to be honest. My thought was that they tended to be largely "writing for business people," with some marketing/PR/etc. stuff through in. Technical writing (at least how I practice it, and really, who's surprised?) more academic and significantly longer than the kind of writing that other "professional writers," do. So the work product is substantively different. Not that there isn't overlap, and all writing ends up just being words after a while, but...
Worth looking into, for sure.
